Pond History :
Two prawn ponds (II-D & II-F) were applied with NS Series Super SPO. These ponds were known to be problematic. Long DOC and low SR/ABW characterized past harvests. Due to these reasons, the product was tried on these 2 ponds on DOC 105.

Observations :

Upon application of the product, water color, tranparency and settleability of suspended solids were greatly improved. |

Plankton growth was stabilized and, during the whole duration of culture, over blooming was no longer experienced. ABW increase per week was 2.45 grams compared to a previous record high of 1.75 grams. |

A total savings of 66.7% of total water changes were saved due to maintenance of good water quality. Stunted growth was remedied. |

|
Ninety percent (90%) of diseases attacking the prawn, i.e. black gills, white spots
discoloration were eliminated and cured. |

|
Pond bottom sludge decreased as compared to sludge depths of previous runs. |
|
|
No odor was noticeable after harvest. |
|
|
Overall performance and results of the NS Series Super SPO treatment for the 2 ponds were highly commendable. Other ponds that have not been applied with NS Series Super SPO were treated with another competitive product and results showed that the two ponds with NS Series Super SPO have tremendously better outcome than others. Considering also that before the start of treatment, the two ponds designated for NS Series Super SPO treatment had the worst records.
