MEGA SPO is the latest breakthrough product in the NS Series line of microbial/enzyme formulation for aquaculture. MEGA SPO is based on improved bacterial strain in Super SPO plus the incorporation of denitrifying bacteria Thiobacillus denitrificans and Paracoccus denitrificans. These bacteria are incorporated to counter the problems of excessive ammonia associated with high density prawn and/or finfish culture. As in any aquatic environment, the holding capacity of water to support life has limited parameters. High organic loading generated by excess feed and excreta causes D.O. depletion, H2S formation and acidity. This creates the opportunity for pathogenic bacteria to proliferate which results in disease outbreaks. High stocking density also causes excessive ammonia, nitrite and nitrate buildup. This eventually accumulates to toxic levels leading to mortality in prawns & massive fish kills.

MEGA SPO is the result of trying to find a solution to these problems for a better harvest. MEGA SPO is a scientifically blended concentration of several super efficient Bacillus strains selected, adapted, cultured and grown to higher concentration for better and faster exponential increase in population and enzyme production. Not only does it degrades organic wastes and metabolites faster and more efficiently, but Thiobacillus denitrificans and Paraccocus denitrificans, have been tested in laboratories and shown to oxidize sulfur and to reduce ammonia content in waste streams by as much as 93% within 24 hours.

Effective in Stopping Fish Kill

& Massive Prawn Mortatlity
(60-day Syndrome)

Actual field trials involving fish kill situations have shown that daily fish mortality completely stops, 2 to 3 days after the application of MEGA SPO. Mortalities caused by 30 and 60 day sydrome in prawn farms have also been averted with the application of MEGA SPO.

OPTIMUM CONDITIONS:

Bacteria and enzymes present in NS Series Mega SPO perform within a pH range of 3.5 to 9.5 with the optimum near pH 7.5. Bacteria remains 100% efficient in temperature as high as 65 ºC. However, at 80 º C, the efficiency diminishes by about 15%.

NOTE:

	Dosage application is independent of percent water change. If the schedule of water change and NS Series Mega SPO application coincides, apply product after water change.
	Simultaneous application of organic or inorganic fertilizers and NS Series Mega SPO is not advisable since it may cause over-blooming specially if pond bottom is deteriorated because of high organic matter content. However, if pond technician is well versed in monitoring water quality, you may do so.
	In case of over-blooming, change 5-10% water daily until plankton bloom stabilizes. Dosage may increase or decrease depending on the quality of. water source.

STORAGE & HANDLING:

Store in cool dry place. Keep out of direct sunlight. Avoid direct inhalation. Wash hands with warm after handling.

DOSAGES:

Dosage level varies widely with each application based on the number of days of culture (DOC), stocking density (SO) and actual pond conditions. The following is the recommended dosage application.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Activate NS Series Mega SPO by soaking one (1) gram of dried cultures in 200 milliliters of pond water (or one kilogram of NS Series Mega SPO in 5 gallons of pond water). Soak for a maximum time of 20 minutes before application.
Apply slurry at highest pond level and along pond perimeter.
The best time for application is from 4:00 p.m. onwards.
Continue running aerators as the usual practice.
